We have a large German Bible dated 1744. It was published in Zurich. Does anyone have any idea of the value of it?
This is "Poetic Thoughts With Pictures",Paintings by Members of the Artists Fund Society of Philadelphia,in celebration of their 50th anniversary. Published by JB Lippincott Co.,in 1886 It is in excellent condition,and has the name Lauderback,one of the artists,written on the flyleaf. The book is 12x14,and contains 27 black and white plates. I have a German Bible in my possession that is dated 1866 I believe. It is a translation from Dr. Joseph Franz von Allioli. This bible was printed in Philadelphia USA by Johann E. Potter and Company in 1866. This particular bible also has a certificate of genuiness in the beginning of the book. Fr. Pustef has sold to John Potter and Company a set of sterotype plates of the Allioli Bible, which he was allowed to publish and print the work in America. This is the original German version. Have any idea what its worth is? It is in excellent condition. I attached a couple pictures of it. Thank you! |
